Program notes:
This piece is undeniably influenced by the band Radiohead; when I wrote it, I had been listening to a great deal of their music and was very taken with the way in which the band utilizes sonic space. There is a richness of texture and timbre in their music that I find very compelling. The influence in my piece is most notable in the way the piano similarly "fills up" the sonic space, while the lyrical cello lines emerge from the texture.
